Warming up winter

This is my line sheet for a winter collection. Like the summer collection, this was Indian inspired and uses similar colors. It was kind of difficult for me to come up with ideas for this collection, because people in India seem to wear the same thing year round. So I began to look at similar surrounding counties for inspiration. with lots of thought this is what i came up with.

Bonfire dress

I finally took an hour out of my schedule to make something for myself! haha I feel like i haven't done that in years! my friend was having a bonfire and I felt as though i had nothing to wear, so I whipped this dress up in about an hour. It was really easy, the patterning was just rectangles and the sewing was just elastic. It looks alot betterr on a person than the form, but here it is.

Negative Space Bubble Skirt

My partner, Allan, and I are creating a collection based on the idea of negative space, shadows and such. This is the one of the skirts that we designed and I created.

We are both very proud of it and have gotten many compliments. The fabrics used were a wool/cotton suiting for the inner pleated skirt and the waistband and an organza for the outer 'globe', as I like to call it. After making up a cost sheet, we only spent $10.75 to create it, but I think it would definitely sell for more than that.

Flaunting the Fifties

This is the next item sheet I created using illustrator, I think I am definitely improving. I really enjoy using illustrator, there are so many things you can do, and it makes making changes so much easier! I am not gifted with many drawing skills, so this program is my savior haha!

Collection Line sheets

I have been taking an Adobe Illustrator class this term and have already learned so much! Its actually really interesting and fun to do. These flats are for my collection. I like them and the background also, although i will have to change them as soon as I figure out how to drop textiles into the garments, especially for the print, it will make them look so much better!
