Too many troubles

The first piece of my collection has got me going crazy! I'm having troubles finding a way to finish the edges. Blind hem won't work because I'm working with a rayon matte jersey, which is a knit, so no matter if I pick up one tiny fiber, you can see it on the outside. I've come to the consensus that I never want to touch this fabric ever again! haha. It will soon come together though, and after it does, the other garments will go smoothly and a lot faster than this piece. Well,I'm hoping they will.

Collection

My Fall collection is beginning to shape up. After much planning (and changes done to the planning)I have begun my first garment. The first muslin that I made looked sort of hideous in my opinion, totally not what I was going for. So I made some changes to the design and Ta-Da! new muslin:

I'm completely in love with the back and the color. Working more on it tomorrow, pretty excited :-)

Collection Influence

This is my Moodboard for my Summer collection. It is inspired by India and the people who live there. The points I took from India were the draping of the Sari, head coverings, jewels, chains and other embellishments. The color pallets of reds, tans and purples stood out to me.
